NeWP's premiere program, the Summer Institute is open to teachers of all disciplines and grade levels. Participants will follow the National Writing Project Institute model by generating their own writing, sharing their best teaching practices for writing, and engaging in inquiry and research into aspects of writing. Participants may qualify for a monetary stipend to help offset the cost of 6 graduate credit hours in English or Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education.
Institute activities include: writing and publishing exercises, visits with local experts on the teaching of writing, participant presentations on best practices of teaching writing, professional development, technology support for digital writing initiatives.

Stipend
Nebraska teachers admitted to the Lincoln Summer Institute may quality for a $250-500 stipend which helps offset the cost of 6 UNL graduate credits in English or Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education.
Pedagogy & Politics

UNL City Campus
Open to teachers of all grade levels, this institute will explore the complexities of teaching in our current political moment. Participants will earn 3 UNL graduate credits in English or Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education.
Institute activities include: writing about/from political perspectives, reading and discussion of political issues and neutrality, development and sharing of innovating teaching that intersects with political subjects in interesting and challenging ways.
