September and October events at Homestead National Monument of America

In partnership with the National Park Service, the Nebraska Writing Project is sponsoring two events at Homestead National Monument near Beatrice, NE: a writing festival for teachers and their students on October 11, and a teacher-specific writing workshop on September 20.

Platte River Writing Retreat

Annual Fall Retreat at Platte River State Park

The Nebraska Writing Project hosts an annual retreat at Platte River State Park, usually in mid September. At this three-day event, NeWP Teacher-Consultants (with their writing-friendly friends and family) gather for shared meals, writing activities, readings, a writing marathon, and other lively and informal events.

The Nebraska Writing Project’s Summer Writing Retreat supports the development of personal, professional and creative writing in peaceful surroundings. The structure of this retreat is designed to accommodate writers at various levels in their project’s development and offers small group supportive structure as well as one-to-one facilitator feedback.
