Charles Sayward, Philosophy Emeriti, recently passed away. He taught graduate and undergraduate courses in philosophy of logic, philosophy of language, and philosophy of mathematics in the Department from the 1960s until the 2010s. According to the Philosophy Faculty, "Charlie was all of irascible and impatient and loyal and kind. He was also one of the few philosophers who changed his mind in the face of philosophical arguments." He will be missed by the Philosophy Department. Arrangements are not known at this time.
