English Abroad

The Education Abroad Office at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln offers study, research, internship, and service learning opportunities for students of all disciplines. Students of English and Film Studies can find all sorts of opportunities relevant to their studies, from faculty-led trips to semester-long exchange programs.

Casey been selected to intern at the Cannes Film Festival through the American Pavilion. Casey will attend red carpet events, film screenings, and roundtable discussions with filmmakers and actors when she's not working in the Marshé (film market).

Jess received three scholarships to help fund her semester abroad at Université Paul-Valéry in Montpellier, France. There, she was able to strengthen her French in an immersive environment and serve as an intern for Montpellier's film festival.

Film Studies

Collin Baker served as an intern at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014. His eight-minute film, "Over Forgotten Roads," was one of the first UNL student films to be screened at the festival.

Aliza's seven-minute film and directorial debut, "The Pursuit of Happiness," was chosen as one of only 31 films to be screened at the American Pavilion during the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, and was one of the first films by UNL students to be screened at the festival.
