228 faculty, staff receive Parents' Recognition Awards

The Parents' Recognition Awards, presented during a Feb. 2 ceremony in the Nebraska Union, are earned through nominations made from parents of Nebraska students. Presented annually, the honors provide positive feedback to faculty and staff about their work with students. They also encourage good student and faculty relationships and provide recognition in an area often overlooked in the formal rewards system.

This year's honorees include ten Department of English instructors:

Jonathan Cheng graduate teaching assistant

Amanda Gailey associate professor

This is her third Parents Recognition Award.

Katie Henson graduate teaching assistant

Gabe Houck lecturer

This is his second Parents Recognition Award.

Fran Kaye professor

This is her second Parents Recognition Award.

Alex Ramirez graduate teaching assistant

Guy Reynolds professor

Bev Rilett research professor of practice

This is her fifth Parents Recognition Award, for which she received special honors.

Linda Rogge graduate teaching assistant
