Vermilyea awarded Nebraska Alumni Association scholarship

The Nebraska Alumni Association has announced its 2021 Award Winners. These annual awards recognize accomplished alumni, promising students and retired faculty members. Kate Vermilyea, a junior English and Psychology double-major, is the receipient of this year's Jack Miller Scholarship.

Kate Vermilyea, who hails from Sergeant Bluff, IA, is pursuing a minor in Ethnic Studies in addition to her double major. Vermilyea is Vice President of Internal Relations on the Student Alumni Association Board of Directors, and she also volunteers as a College of Arts and Sciences student ambassador.

The Jack Miller Scholarship memorializes a former exec VP of the Nebraska Alumni Association, whose leadership and professionalism instituted many innovations, including the establishment of the Student Alumni Association.
