Alumni Spotlight: DeMoine Adams

Originally from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, DeMoine Adams is a former University of Nebraska standout football player. He was instrumental in the Big 12 Conference Championship in 1999 and helped lead them to the National Championship Rose Bowl in January 2002. He also spent time in the National Football League (NFL) with the Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans, and San Francisco 49ers.

Adams is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for TeamMates Mentoring. He lives in Lincoln, Nebraska and regularly gives talks across the country motivating others through his business, "The Game Plan – Ready, Set, Perform," which he started in 2011. A first-generation student, he is currently pursuing his doctorate degree at the University of Nebraska. He was previously Director of Development for the University of Nebraska Foundation. 

He is participating in 2023 Multicultural Homecoming events hosted by the Chancellor's Commission on the Status of People of Color and is being recognized as the CAS 2023 Distinguished Alumni.

His motto in life is: "Once you see where you're going, everything you do must correspond with where you're going."

Favorite Memory
"My favorite memory at UNL is definitely as a former Husker football player when I scored a defensive touchdown against Iowa State in 1999 as a redshirt freshman. It was a home night game, and the clip was all over ESPN that night. From an academic standpoint, being the first to graduate from college in my family not in five years, not in four years, but in three years with five minors. I was only 20 when I walked across that stage, and it was heartwarming to have my entire family and teammate there to support that amazing day. All of my professors through the College of Arts and Sciences were very supportive of me achieving excellence off the field and in the classroom which led to me being a three-time Academic Big 12 student-athlete and a Second-Team Academic All-American."
