November 15: Online application opens.

February 1: Priority deadline.
Formal review of applications begins. Some programs begin making admissions offers.

March 1: Application deadline-11:59 PM.
All materials, including faculty recommendations, transcripts, etc., must be received by this date at 11:59 PM CST. Programs continue to make admissions offers.

Mid-April: Admissions decisions complete.
All students will be notified of their status through the e-mail address provided on the Nebraska Summer Research Program application.

For applicants accepted as scholars

Individual research programs will provide details about deadlines of accepting offers of admission. Official acceptance agreements will be included with the pre-arrival paperwork.

Early April: Access to the 2024 Scholar website and pre-arrival information sent.
Students accepted into the Summer Research Program are sent access information for the scholar website and pre-arrival documents through the email address provided on the Nebraska Summer Research Program application.

Mid-April: Pre-Arrival information deadline.
Summer scholars must return pre-arrival documents, including the Student Information form, W-9 and ACH Enrollment Form, Release of Claims, and Student Agreement form.

May: Travel arrangements and pre-program information.
Air travel will be purchased on behalf of those needing to fly and other travel will be confirmed. Roommate information and other details about campus and Lincoln will be provided. Faculty mentors may contact scholars with readings or other preparation prior to the start of the Summer Research Program.

June 2: Travel to Lincoln and welcome pizza party

June 3-June 7: Campus and program orientation

August 6: Summer Research Program Symposium

August 7: Summer Research Program Banquet

August 8: Departure date for scholars
