The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Bands are inviting high school sophomores and juniors to "sit in" with the Big Red Express Pep Band and the Cornhusker Marching Band for the 2024 Red-White Spring Football Game scheduled for 11:00 AM kick-off on Saturday, April 27th.
75 lucky high school musicians will be accepted to meet, rehearse, and then play from the stands of Memorial Stadium with the UNL Athletic Bands for one of the most celebrated spring football events in the country. All marching instruments welcome with the exception of stationary percussion (marimba, bells, xylophone, electronics, etc.) Participating high school musicians will be provided music, an event t-shirt, free admittance to the spring game, meal vouchers for use in the stadium, and more.
Mixer Schedule
- 7:45 - 8:15 AM: Check-in at Westbrook Music Building
- 8:15 - 9:00 AM: Sectionals with UNL Band Members
- 9:00 - 9:15 AM: Break and Pictures
- 9:15 - 9:45 AM: Full Band Rehearsal
- 9:50 AM: Line-up and Troop to Memorial Stadium
- 10:20 AM: Seated in Section 9 (east stadium) ready to play
- Approximately 1:00 PM: Troop band to Westbrook Music Building after the game
- Approximately 2:00 PM: Dismissal from Westbrook Music Building

Deadline for a completed registration and high school band director's recommendation is 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
There will be a limit of five (5) students per high school (first come, first served). Come join us for a day full of music, fun, and spring football!
