Hispanic Heritage Month

Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15. Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the Latinx/Hispanic community. The September 15th date is significant because it is the Independence Day for the Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively. This is a time for us to educate ourselves on the Latinx/Hispanic culture and its history.
