Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the Hispanic community. Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15. The September 15th date is significant because it is the independence day for the Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively. This is a time for us to educate ourselves on the rich Hispanic culture and its history.
